There is a subtle ode to 1970’s commune aesthetic with their textured warm tones and geometric, concrete-focused architecture throughout the photography treatment and printed goods. With geometric details that echo Alice’s products, these logos and marks look simultaneously high-end and approachable.
Based in Marin County, California, Alice Tacheny Design makes and designs sculptural, useful objects using familiar materials in unexpected ways. I wanted to create a brand identity that felt tactile, connective, and honest. Textured minimalism meets sculptural details to create an aesthetic that is nostalgically modern. Print and web layouts strongly feature photography and abundant use of negative space for areas with text, giving the chosen words a visual poetry about them.

To bring Alice Tacheny’s world to life, I traveled to Marin County to capture the essence of her work in the spaces where her creativity thrives. Collaborating with Aubrey Janelle, we photographed in both Alice’s studio and her home, blending the warmth of her personal environment with the artistry of her handcrafted designs. The photoshoot showcased a balance of product images and portraits to highlight her pieces' tactile, intentional beauty while offering a glimpse into the thoughtful, grounded energy that defines her process.
